Soulfire is a great book that teaches good morals and the importance of doing the right thing. I can see many kids finding this book an interesting read. Obviously not for everyone though, I think intermediate and high school boys would be the main audience.
It touches on a range of important topics, like that it’s okay to be gay, being a nerd isn’t always a bad thing, how imagination is a useful tool, and how being creative is empowering. I could see many imaginative or artsy kids taking this to heart and going to school the next day with renewed energy.
The story may help readers who are struggling to feel more confident to share their passions. This book might be a useful tool for teachers and counsellors to know about considering they work with young people.
